Consumer Care Specialist Job Description

The Consumer Care Specialist position is one of the most important roles in our clinics! We look for a socially poised, enthusiastic, accurate, and assertive team member to be a part of our FYZICAL family! Our ideal CCS candidate should be comfortable coordinating our patient’s specialized treatment appointments, verifying, and explaining insurance benefits, answering phones and emails, and collecting and explaining financials.  Multi-tasking is a must!

CCS Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and direct clients, salespeople, and visitors
  • Answer telephone and either respond to inquiry or direct caller to appropriate personnel
  • Register new and existing client information accurately into EMR system, update as needed
  • Schedule appointments productively and track referrals
  • Take control and proactively generate reports and schedule appointments in openings
  • Contact client insurance company for verification of insurance benefits and understand requirements needed for coverage of physical therapy visits
  • Assertively collect client co-pays and account balances
  • Perform other miscellaneous administrative tasks as directed to help keep clinic running smooth

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Independently handle complex scheduling to maximize Therapists’ productivity
  • Comfortable with utilizing a variety of computer applications including, but not limited to email, Microsoft Office Suite, and client scheduling system
  • Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn
  • Passion for helping our clients achieve a remarkable experience and outcome
  • Ability to multitask to juggle between all front office duties including but not limited to assisting patients, phone calls, client financials, and verification of insurance benefits
  • Ability to create and maintain a friendly, fun, and positive demeanor with clients, insurance companies, and coworkers
